Morocco
Hosted at the Olo Surf Nature's Dar Zitoun in Imsouane. With private rooms, views of the ocean and the surf break, breakfast and dinner served in the house, it is an amazing week in an unexpected surf location.
About This Retreat
Imsouane is a tiny, quiet fishing town off the coast of Morocco that boasts the longest wave in Africa (and the world). On one side you have The Bay which is perfect for learning and cruising on longboards. On the other side you have La Cathédrale which gets heavier, faster surf if you prefer shortboards. As it's in November, it's in full surf season, the waves are bigger and there's a clear section for the beginners, while the intermediates paddle out to the peak to catch the longest right-hander in Africa. In between surf sessions you can lounge around the tiny authentic fisher town, bump into some mules and eat fresh fish of the day, or a tajine of course.
The accommodation is at Olo Surf Nature's Dar Zitoun in Imsouane which is, hands down, the nicest place in town. It's a private villa with hotel services, a peaceful garden and a big pool with views of the surf. Some rooms are in the main house, others are scattered around through the garden. It has plenty of shared spaces for game nights and family dinners. The staff is amazing and they welcome us like friends. Truly a home for our little instant surf family.
The surf retreat package includes things like board rentals, daily breakfasts, up to 2 hours of surf instruction per day, plus video analysis, open board rentals, and a photo and video package of your surfing to take home with you. There will also be lots of time to relax in private pool, go on nature walks, and lounge in the hammocks. You can also opt in on the "family dinners", one of the sweetest moments of the day where we share authentic Moroccan dishes prepared by our in-house chef and share stories, of the day and of life.
